Frequently Asked Questions
Q: What system of astrology do you use in your readings?
I do Western Astrology. I use the Tropical Zodiac, and the Placidus house system.
Q: How do you do your readings?
All my readings are done as a live video call via an online conferencing service called Zoom. I do this so you can see me and your astrological charts on the screen and ask me your questions in real time while we talk. You do not have to enable your video to be seen by me, but it is an option.
You will be sent a link to the Zoom meeting upon booking. You may need to download the Zoom software before you meet with me. However, it is a small download that should take no more than 5 minutes.
Q: Do we have to meet in real-time for my reading?
Yes! I will not pre-record your reading and send it to you after. You must be present at the time of the reading.
Q: Are your readings recorded, and will I get a copy?
Yes, all of my readings are recorded. You will be sent a copy of the reading as a courtesy after we meet. I try my best to send the recording to you in about 7 days after our meeting. However, that time frame is not guaranteed. Sometimes it takes 2-3 weeks longer. The reading will be sent to you as a private YouTube video that can only be accessed with your personal email.
Q: How do I book an astrological reading with you?
I have 30-minute and 1-hour options available. You can book and schedule your reading here.
Q: Is there anything I need to do to prepare for the reading?
Please come prepared with any specific questions you may want answered during the session so that you do not forget. Also, please make sure you have Zoom downloaded on your computer or know how to use Zoom before we meet.
Q: You sent the recording of my reading to me, but I cannot access it. How do I do this?
Your reading will be sent to you as a private YouTube video that can only be accessed with your personal email. As a result, it is important that you are logged into YouTube when you go to view the video, and that the email your YouTube account is associated with is the same email you booked the reading under. That should clear up any issues you may have.
Q: I cannot meet during the day for a reading. Can you do a reading at night or on the weekend instead?
I do readings on one Saturday a month. I also am available later at night on Tuesdays only. I have done that so I can best accommodate those who are busy or live in other parts of the world. Please book those times for your reading instead.
Q: What kind of equipment and software do you use to film your videos on YouTube?
The astrology program I use is called AstroGold. The program I use to connect my iPad to my MacBook is called AirServer. The camera I use to film is a Canon Powershot G7 X Mark II. I edit all my videos in iMovie.
Q: Where can I get a free drawing of my chart?
Astro.com is a great website that allows you to draw up your natal chart and many other advanced charts for free.
Q: What astrology software do you recommend?
I use AstroGold to draw up my charts. I also use iPhemeris for research on my own time. Both of these are good apps for Macs that give you the freedom to create your own charts and explore astrology in real-time.
I hear Solar Fire is a good program for PCs.
Q: How did you learn astrology?
I started learning astrology in 2012 after I was going through a hard time. My dad had just passed away. I had just ended a 5 year relationship with the first boy I ever loved, and I had moved across the country to a new place I had never been before. Astrology was a way to help me cope, understand what had happened, and make me feel better.
I started by reading or watching every single horoscope I could find. Once I did that, I began to get curious why some horoscopes where the same and others were different. I then began Googling information about astrology online. I eventually found out about Astro.com and learned how to draw up on my own chart online.
In 2017, after researching astrology as a hobby only, I realized I knew enough to give people readings. At that time, I began studying astrology more seriously, with the intent to give readings, and picking up on all the advanced astrology I did not already know.
I joined a lot of astrology groups on Facebook and began talking to people there, sharing other information, participating in conversations, and reading other people's charts for free.
My favorite astrology book is The Eagle & The Lark by Bernadette Brady. I am inspired by The Leo King, and did purchase his astrology course about a year after I launched Wonder Girl on YouTube.
Q: Did you always want to be an astrologer and start a YouTube channel?
No! I have both a bachelor's and a master's degree in Journalism. My plan was to become a journalist, writing and building communities for national news organizations. Prior to starting my YouTube channel, I worked for a variety of news organizations writing stories and helping to increase their audience and engagement. However, after working at these companies for years, I realized my career wasn't going anywhere, and that I needed a change to do something I was more passionate about and could have more freedom to control. That was when I decided to go out on my own and start my YouTube channel.
Q: What is your sign?
I am a Gemini sun and moon, with a Cancer rising.
